WOT Sociocracy Training

WOT is moving to more of a self-governance model in lieu of hiring paid staff. We're hoping to get more women involved in different aspects of WOT and have our governance mirror the mission and values of our organization.

Karen Andrews brought up the idea of governing by Sociocracy in our first Supercircle this summer. Many of the women in both Supercircles loved the idea of this form of governance, and so the board pursued this with a local Sociocracy trainer, Uli Nagel.

Sociocracy is a non-hierarchical system of self-governance that creates a free-flow of information, using consent-based decision-making. It originated in the Netherlands and has been adopted by many of the successful organizations and communities in the US.
